Kate Jacobson is one half of popular Brisbane indie-country/folk duo, Texas Tea. Texas Tea have been rising in popularity since their inception in 2004. With almost 6 years of song writing, recording and touring up their sleeve, Texas Tea have successfully scratched their name in the oak of Australia’s independent music scene. They have also recently made a name for themselves by touring other countries around the world, with most notable enthusiasm coming from Northern France.

Kate’s solo show is reflective of her partnership in Texas Tea. Incorporating voice, guitar and foot percussion, the show is enchanting, evocative and unique. Expect to hear Texas Tea favourites (in stripped back style) as well as getting sneak peaks of potential future TT songs in their raw and developmental stages.

Kate is revered as one of Queensland’s up-and-coming song writing talents. She has been shortlisted for the APRA Songwriters awards on two occasions, been nominated several times in the Q-Music Song Of The Year Awards and most recently was a finalist for the Grant McClennan Memorial Fellowship.

Kate has performed solo supporting many home-grown acts and internationals such as Jim White (USA) and John Doe (USA). She has also graced the stage in venues such as the T-Bird (London) and at the Queensland Art Gallery, as a part of The Met Up Late series.
